Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Accountant to join our friendly professional team of Accountants and Bookkeepers based in Lancing, West Sussex.

About the Role

You'll work with a wide variety of clients - from sole traders to limited companies - providing essential accounting and tax services. This is a hands-on role in a supportive and dynamic practice environment. As we have three offices across Sussex, there is plenty of opportunity to develop your career, progressing into a practice management role if wanted.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies Complete VAT returns and bookkeeping using Xero Produce corporation tax and personal tax returns Completion of month end processes and preparation of management accounts Liaise directly with clients to collect information, provide updates and answer their queries Assist junior staff and contribute to team development Support the directors in overseeing workflow, staff coordination, and practice development Contribute to process improvement and implementation of best practices across the firm

What We're Looking For

AAT qualified, or ACCA/ACA part-qualified or fully qualified 2+ years' experience in an accountancy practice (QBE considered) Strong knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations Confident using cloud-based accounting software Excellent communication and organisational skills A proactive, client-focused approach Ability to manage own workload and work independently
