We are a medium-sized accountancy practice seeking an experienced Accountant with strong technical ability and proven practice experience.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can review, finalise, and submit company accounts independently, with a consistently high standard of accuracy. You will be responsible for taking accounts from the review stage through to submission, ensuring full compliance with UK statutory requirements.

Experience using TaxCalc and VT is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Review, finalise, and sign off statutory company accounts Prepare and submit accounts to Companies House and HMRC Prepare and review corporation tax returns using TaxCalc Produce final accounts using VT Identify and resolve accounting and compliance issues Manage deadlines across a portfolio of clients Liaise with clients, directors, HMRC, and other third parties as required
Essential Requirements

Previous experience working in a UK accountancy practice Proven experience reviewing and finalising company accounts Strong working knowledge of TaxCalc and VT Solid understanding of UK statutory accounts and compliance Excellent attention to detail Ability to work independently and take ownership of work Able to work full-time on-site at our office
Desirable (But Not Essential)

ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or part-qualified Experience with SMEs and owner-managed businesses Experience managing multiple client deadlines
