About the Role:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and managing routine financial operations using Sage. This role plays a key part in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Sage accounting software
Prepare monthly management accounts, profit & loss statements, and balance sheets
Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
Ensure timely compliance with HMRC regulations and tax obligations
Support payroll processes and liaise with HR as needed
Communicate with external accountants and auditors when required
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in accounting
Strong proficiency in Sage accounting software
Experience in the service sector is desirable but not essential
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
Solid understanding of UK accounting standards and tax regulations
Relevant qualifications such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent are an advantage
Excellent communication and organisational skills

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage invoices, payment logs, and expense reports using Excel
Enter daily financial data accurately
Learn and assist with data entry into Sage accounting software
Support with basic bank tasks and supplier tracking
Assist the finance team with admin and operational tasks
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of Excel (e.g. entering data, using simple formulas)
Interest in developing a career in finance or accounting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Organised, responsible, and trustworthy
Previous office or admin experience is a plus but not essential
