Job Description

TaxKings is a forward-thinking, tech-driven accountancy practice. We're continuing to evolve how we work and are looking for an experienced accountant to join us, with a focus on personal tax and self assessment.

This role is intentionally flexible. It can be full time or part time and can be carried out remotely, from our Glasgow office, or a mix of both.

The role

Your main focus will be

personal tax and self assessment

, including reviewing and finalising returns prepared by others. You'll also be involved in more complex personal tax work and support other small business tasks where required.

We actively redesign our processes and systems and are not afraid to change how things are done when something better comes along. This is a role for someone who enjoys working in a modern, evolving practice.

Key responsibilities

Review and sign off personal tax and self assessment returns Handle more complex personal tax matters, including CGT Support junior team members with technical queries and reviews Contribute to small business work such as accounts or VAT where required Work closely with UK-based and remote team members Help shape and improve processes as the practice develops

What we're looking for

Strong UK practice experience Confidence with personal tax and self assessment Comfortable reviewing work prepared by others Qualified or qualified by experience Comfortable using modern accounting software, AI and automation tools Pragmatic, organised and adaptable
A personal tax specialism is preferred but not essential. We value good judgement and a willingness to evolve over rigid job titles.
