Accounts Assistant

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is:

AAT qualified or studying

, or

ACA qualified or studying

and looking to develop their skills within a forward-thinking practice. You'll gain hands-on experience across accounts preparation, tax, and audit, working alongside an experienced and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies and sole traders Preparing and submitting VAT returns Bookkeeping across a variety of clients using cloud-based software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) Assisting with

statutory audits

and wider assurance assignments Preparing company tax returns (CT600s) Liaising directly with clients to gather records, provide updates, and deliver excellent service Supporting the wider team with ad hoc accountancy and administrative tasks

About You

AAT or ACA qualified

, or currently studying towards either qualification Previous experience in an accountancy practice preferred Confident using cloud-based accounting platforms Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the Office Suite Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proactive, eager to learn, and ready to take initiative
