About the Role



We are looking for a highly efficient and detail-oriented

Accounts Administrator

to join our small but busy finance team. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager you will be responsible for our daily financial activities, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner. This is a crucial role for a candidate who is a

proactive executor

and thrives on getting the job done.

Key Responsibilities



As our Accounts Administrator, you will manage the essential, day-to-day financial operations. Your core duties will include:

Processing Accounts Payable and Receivable:

Accurately entering, coding, and processing all supplier invoices, preparing payment runs, and raising client invoices.

Daily Bookkeeping:

Performing timely and accurate data entry into

SAGE 50

to maintain up-to-date and clean ledgers.

Bank Reconciliation:

Performing regular reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts to ensure alignment with the general ledger.

Credit Control:

Assisting with managing the sales ledger, chasing outstanding payments, and resolving invoice queries efficiently.

Expense Management:

Reviewing and processing employee expense claims and petty cash reconciliations.

Payroll Support:

Assisting with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll data.

Filing & Documentation:

Maintaining organized and auditable digital and physical financial records.

Supporting the Lead:

Providing general administrative and financial support to the Financial Operations Lead as required.

Your Skills and Experience



The ideal candidate will be a fast learner, highly organised, and possess a strong foundation in practical accounting.

Proven experience (at least

2 years

) in a dedicated Accounts Administrator, Bookkeeper, or Finance Assistant role.

High proficiency and hands-on experience with SAGE 50

is essential. Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly

Excel

for basic reporting and tracking. A self-starter with a proactive, "can-do" attitude who can manage their workload effectively with minimal supervision. Good communication skills for dealing with suppliers and internal teams. AAT qualification or equivalent bookkeeping certification is highly desirable, but practical experience is key.
