Accounts and Finance Coordinator - Construction & Facilities Management
Location: Bolton (Office-based, Monday to Friday)
About the Role:
Our client, a fast-growing, family-run business within the construction and facilities management sector, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts and Finance Coordinator to join their friendly team based in Bolton.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on and working in a close-knit environment, taking ownership of daily finance operations and supporting the smooth financial running of the business. You'll report directly to the Finance Director and play a key role in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and control across all financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Finance Director in coordinating the day-to-day financial activities of the business.
Manage and prioritise tasks across a small finance team to ensure smooth operations.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time.
Perform bank reconciliations, credit control, and cash flow monitoring.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity within Xero.
Assist with month-end management accounts preparation and cost reporting.
Support project and job costing, ensuring accurate allocation of costs to construction and facilities management contracts.
Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve finance-related queries quickly and effectively.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of financial systems, controls, and processes.
About You:
Proven experience as an Accounts and Finance Coordinator, Finance Assistant, or Accounts Assistant, ideally within the construction or facilities management industry.
Confident working with Xero and experienced in maintaining financial systems.
Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
A pragmatic, hands-on team player who can react quickly to changing priorities.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
AAT-qualified or currently studying (or qualified by experience).
