We're looking for an

Accounts Assistant

who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in accuracy, and isn't afraid to pick up the phone to keep things moving. You'll be at the heart of our finance function, managing customer accounts, supporting cash flow, and working closely with colleagues across the business.

Key responsibilities

Manage the sales ledger and monitor customer accounts Set up new customer accounts and perform credit checks Assess and control customer credit limits in line with company and credit insurance policies Chase overdue invoices via email, phone, and statements Resolve invoice queries, short payments, and deductions promptly Allocate customer payments accurately and on time Produce aged debtor reports Reduce debtor days and minimise bad debt risk Purchase ledger tasks to include posting invoices and replying to supplier queries

Key skills and experience

Experience of working in a similar role or Finance Department Excellent attention to detail Good time management and organisational skills Effective communication skills and can demonstrate a good degree of pro-activity Ability to work well in a team environment and willingness to provide cover in other areas
