Summary
As Accounts Assistant you will be offering support to the Finance Director and your team members for all finance related matters. The role requires the individual to lead transactional processing and assist the production of monthly management accounts
This is a full time position, working 37.5 hours a week across Monday to Friday
Salary is up to 25,000 depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
:
Lead transactional processing including sales invoicing, purchase ledger invoicing, bank reconciliation, and expense claims.
Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts, variance analysis and control accounts.
Accruals and prepayments
Maintaining the fixed asset register
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasting.
Develop internal reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and business analytics to aid commercial decision making across a wide range of stakeholders.
Supporting the Finance Director with implementation of new finance infrastructure and key projects within the business. Fulfilling Local Council requirements to ensure timely and accurate funding.
Foster strong stakeholder engagement networks both internally and externally.
Be compliant with all local site Environmental, Health and Safety regulations.
Ensure compliance to all local site company policies and procedures.
Ensure continuing self-development by seeking opportunities for increasing job knowledge and skills.
Undertake any other duties as may be reasonable required.
Skills and Experience
AAT Qualified (or working towards)
Eligibility to work in the UK
Ability to deliver tasks on time and with a high degree of autonomy and accuracy, whilst maintaining momentum under pressure
Experience using Sage accounting software would be advantageous

Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work effectively
Able to maintain financial records in a methodical and orderly fashion
High level of computer literacy; excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word, strong spreadsheet and analytical skills
Effective and sensitive communicator able to build effective relationships with a wide variety of people
Knowledge of how to work with financial systems
Strong problem-solving skills
Positive and committed team member, who works to very high standards
