Kent School of English, an English language school located in Broadstairs, is seeking a professional and organised person, who works well under pressure, for a varied role in a busy environment.
The successful applicant will be expected to learn quickly; demonstrate a strong work ethic, be able to work effectively as part of a small team, and independently when required.
This role is mainly office-based, and offers a part-time, permanent contract.
KSE is open 50 weeks of the year, including UK bank holidays and UK school holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Payroll
Assist with the collation of payroll information and forward it to our payroll agent
Data entry and record-keeping
Recording financial transactions, such as invoices, payments, and receipts
Invoice and payment processing
Receiving, verifying, and processing invoices from suppliers, and sending invoices to customers in a timely fashion
Reconciliation
Reconciling accounts and direct debits to ensure balances match records
Communication
Dealing with queries from clients, suppliers and from other departments within the school
Administrative tasks
Duties such as answering queries, making phone calls, ordering supplies
Petty cash management
Handling and recording petty cash transactions
KSE Voucher scheme
Assisting with the operation of the scheme
General responsibilities as a KSE team member:
Contribute to a safe, inclusive and respectful working environment
Promote the ethos of KSE
Complete a basic safeguarding awareness course and be familiar with the school's safeguarding policy
Participate fully in training/development activities
Occasionally perform other reasonable duties to assist the school
Key skills/ qualifications:
University degree, accounting qualification or equivalent
Proficient user of Sage 50 accounts software, MS Access, Word and Excel
High standard of written and spoken English
Prior experience in a similar role
Hours and salary:
20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09.00-13.00
Competitive salary, according to qualifications and experience
