Overview

The Accounts Assistant will play a key role in supporting the finance function by ensuring accurate processing of financial transactions, maintaining strong supplier and customer relationships. This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast?paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately process purchase ledger invoices in a timely manner. Resolve supplier queries and manage new supplier set?ups. Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies where required. Release orders and provide support to the Orders and Customer Service departments. Assist with credit control activities, including chasing overdue invoices when necessary. Respond promptly and professionally to customer account queries. Handle incoming phone calls and provide general administrative support to the Accounts team. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal processes. Own car essential due to location.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience working within an Accounts or Finance environment. Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work with spreadsheets confidently. Knowledge of Orderwise is preferred but not essential. Excellent organisational and time?management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise tasks effectively. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Effective problem?solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
