About the Assistant Accountant Job



This is a detail focused Accounts Assistant job that will support a busy finance function, with a strong focus on Accounts Payable and involvement in Accounts Receivable.

You'll be responsible for processing high value supplier invoices, managing multi-currency bank accounts, running payments, allocating incoming cash, and handling complex ledger entries across both UK and Asia entities. You will post and reconcile transactions across 12 bank accounts (GBP, USD, EUR), support intercompany transactions, raise high-value invoices, set up new accounts, and chase overdue debt where needed.

You'll be joining at a key time as they simplify and improve the finance processes, so this Accounts Assistant job requires someone who can take ownership of their work, keep ledgers clean and accurate, and work closely with internal teams to resolve queries. This role offers a stable, hands-on position with real impact and autonomy.

The Requirements



Solid experience in Accounts Payable - processing, payment runs, and reconciliations Exposure to Accounts Receivable - raising invoices, posting payments, chasing debt Confident working with multiple bank accounts and multi-currency transactions Able to manage intercompany transactions and support ledger tidying/clean-up Comfortable with manual processing and keen to help simplify existing systems Experience using ERP systems, ideally in a manufacturing environment Detail-oriented and organised, with a methodical and proactive approach Comfortable working independently and liaising across departments Looking for stability and ownership, not progression into leadership roles

Salary, Benefits & Culture



Salary is 30,000 - 32,000 but with some negotiation beyond if necessary. Hybrid working (4 days in the office, 1 from home) but with flexible start and finish times (core hours 9am - 3pm), half day Fridays, 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
