Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to work in the accounts team for the James Cargo group of companies, Freight Forwarding and Fulfilment businesses located in UK, Netherlands and USA.

Location

Hybrid working after initial in-office training for first few months (at our offices in Feltham).

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:30 (flexible).

Main Purpose of Role



The role reports to the Accounts Supervisor and involves working closely with other members of the finance and operational teams.

The role is varied and includes purchase ledger, sales ledger and banking tasks. Attention to detail, an organised approach to work with daily payment deadlines and strong communication skills are essential.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years' experience working within a high-volume accounts / purchase ledger role, possess solid communication skills and be able to resolve supplier queries without supervision.

KEY Responsibilities



Purchase Ledger



Daily monitoring of the AP inbox and managing supplier emails

Make AM and PM payment runs

Process a high volume of supplier invoices, matching against the correct purchase orders on Boxtop and coding & sending invoices for approval

Work with the ops dept and suppliers to resolve invoice differences

Prepare and send invoice query report to ops every other week

Reconcile supplier statements and resolve differences

Ensure all contras processed correctly in AR and AP ledgers

Process credit card statements

Maintain supplier accounts ensuring queries resolved

Use Excel to assist in processing courier invoices and reconciliations

Sales Ledger



Cash posting and allocation

Send out customer statements incl. manual FX statements

Maintain 'cash' accounts - weekly emails to billing team, etc.

Raise inter-company invoices

Complete credit checks and liaise with credit controller to set credit limits

Banking



Reconcile bank accounts each day and resolve all differences

Other



Assist with other ad-hoc duties

PERSON SPECIFICATION



Experience



2 years previous + AP/AR knowledge and experience

Freight Industry (Desired)

Relevant qualifications, AAT (Desired)

Skills / Knowledge



Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment

Good Excel skills - vlookups in Excel

Sage 50/ Boxtop (Desired)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 30,000.00-32,000.00 per year
