We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our organisation, ensuring accuracy in financial records and assisting with various accounting tasks. This position is perfect for someone looking to develop their skills in accounting while contributing to the overall efficiency of our financial processes.
Duties
Day to Day Tasks include:
Reconcile invoices from Far East.
Manage company accounts, including purchase/sales ledger: Check/ reconcile supplier statements to relevant sage platform, making sure all invoices have been received any missing invoices/ credit notes are requested from the supplier. Any unallocated items on the statement that cannot be matched need investigating.
Allocate costs for all purchases in relation to build of new machinery.
Invoice rents where applicable, along with general invoicing across the whole company.
Matching Freight/ Airway bills to invoices for all logistic companies.
Reconcile all import/export invoices.
VAT administration.
Managing our on-line websites
Reconcile employee expenses.
General administration - Filing, opening of post, ordering of office stationery, milk, groceries, cleaning products & printer & cartridges for Willis & Warehouse etc.
Maintenance of franking machine and updating credit on machine as and when required.
Maintenance of office printers, dealing with third parties when machines start to go wrong.
Support with Supplier/Customer Contract renewals.
Assisting with Fire Marshal / First Aider duties - Responsible for carrying out Fire Test / Drills.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
Advanced on Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Knowledge or using SAP or similar databases. Sage 50 is essential.
Good understanding of Accounts/Finance - P&L processes
Numerate and a good eye for detail is fundamental.
Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written.
Organised approach and ability to handle conflicting priorities.
Trustworthy with a friendly proactive manner.
Must have a can-do attitude and take responsibility for given areas. 2-3 years' experience of working in an accounting environment, preferably with experience of using Sage Accounts.
