Accounts Assistant
to join our finance team, focusing on customer invoicing and payroll processing.
Role Overview
As an Accounts Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of our financial operations. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation of customer invoices, timely processing of payroll, and maintaining high-quality financial records.
Key Responsibilities
Complete transport jobs in our Transport Management System and Prepare, issue, and reconcile customer invoices
Process monthly payroll accurately and on time
Maintain and update financial records and employee payroll information
Respond to customer and staff queries regarding invoices and payroll
Assist with accounts receivable duties, including payment tracking
Support the finance team with general accounting and administrative tasks
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies
Required Skills & Experience
Previous experience in an accounts, bookkeeping, or payroll role
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Good understanding of invoicing and payroll processes
Proficiency with accounting/payroll software (SAGE 50, or similar)
Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to assist in other tasks as part of a small team.
Desirable
Certificate or qualification in accounting, business administration, or a related field
Experience in the road transport industry.
