We are a well-established and client-focused accountancy practice seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant with Payroll expertise to join our growing team. This role involves managing bookkeeping and payroll for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
Process payrolls (weekly & monthly) including RTI and pension submissions
Prepare VAT returns and assist with CIS reporting
Communicate directly with clients to resolve queries and provide guidance
Support year-end accounts preparation
Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines
Requirements
Proven experience in an accounts assistant role, ideally within an accountancy practice
Strong knowledge of payroll processing and current legislation
Proficiency in Xero accounting software
Excellent attention to detail and time management
AAT qualification or equivalent (preferred)
Strong communication and client service skills
