Accounts Assistant


Badiani is an Italian brand with Gelateria's in the UK, Italy and Spain! We were founded in 1932 and entered the UK market in 2016. We now bring joy and colour to the lives of thousands daily through our beautiful concept stores and award-winning gelato!! We are a fast growing business and are entering more exciting markets in 2023 whilst growing our E-commerce and B2B platforms.



Reporting directly into the CFO you will be a member of this small finance function in a fast growing business. We are looking for someone who has a wide breadth of experience as well as someone who is adaptable and an excellent team player. The role will require someone who is comfortable with changing processes, with the support of the finance manager, in order to create efficiency in their tasks. This includes using the full capability of the accounting software in order to automate manual tasks.

Responsibilities will include:



Act as first point of contact for staff with day-to-day queries and liaise with the team Reconcile daily cash and credit card takings for Spain Reconciling company credit cards for UK & Spain Supplier statement reconciliations UK & Spain Bank Reconciliations for UK and Spain entities Accounts Payable: including processing supplier invoices and allocating payments Accounts Receivable, includes creating and sending invoices to business customers Credit Control - politely chasing business customers with outstanding invoices Keeping customer and supplier data up to date on Xero including contact details and bank accounts Assisting with month end, ensuring prepayments and accruals are accurate based on invoices received, posting journals as required Supporting the rest of the business with administrative tasks, including admin related to opening of new stores and also of running the office e.g. ordering stationery or setting up utilities accounts Building good working relationships with key internal and external customers.

Candidate Requirements



Essential:



1+ years of experience of working in accounts departments completing the tasks and duties described in this role Computer literate with excellent excel skills, with the ability to learn new systems Good knowledge of Xero Software, or similar accounting software packages Self-motivated Excellent attention to detail and a great understanding of accruals accounting Be a problem solver, working closely with the Finance Director on solutions Be able to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and stay organised Be able to produce high quality, accurate work independently Have proven experience of simplifying and automating processes within an accounts department Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Spanish/ Italian speaker desirable
