Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented friendly and trustworthy and proactive Accounts Assistant. We are a small friendly growing firm and need someone to work with our external bookkeeper to process supplier payments and deal with queries. The successful candidate will support the organisation's financial operations by managing accounts payable, overseeing data entry (mostly automated), and maintaining accurate financial records. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic environment, using Xero. You need to be intelligent and dependable and quick to learn and can quickly be trusted to work with little supervision. Hours are very flexible within reason. There are bluntly little or no prospects(!) as we don't see the role growing - we try to run an efficient lean operation and this is unlikely to become full time. It would suit a recent graduate with spare time or a more experienced person, perhaps with children, to fit around their lifestyle.

Responsibilities



Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments Perform data entry tasks related to financial transactions with precision and attention to detail Assist in maintaining organised financial records using various accounting software including Xero. Support month-end closing activities by reconciling accounts and preparing relevant documentation Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures Assist with general administrative tasks related to finance operations as required Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting accuracy

Qualifications



Trustworthy and friendly fun helpful decent human being Proven experience with accounting software such as Xero is highly desirable Strong data entry skills with high accuracy levels Knowledge of accounts payable procedures and financial services operations Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Prior experience in an administrative or finance support role is advantageous but not essential

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 15.00-25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 15 per week
