We are now seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong numerical skills, a structured approach, and experience or interest in purchasing and stock control within a hotel environment.

About the Role



Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Accounts Assistant will play a key role in supporting the hotel's financial operations. In addition to core accounts duties, the role includes responsibility for purchasing activities and stock management, ensuring accuracy, cost control, and efficient day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities



Assisting with daily accounting tasks, including invoice processing and reconciliations

Managing purchase orders and liaising with suppliers

Monitoring stock levels and maintaining accurate inventory records

Coordinating and overseeing regular stock takes

Supporting month-end procedures and financial reporting

Ensuring compliance with internal controls and company procedures

What We're Looking For



Previous experience in an accounts or finance role (hotel experience desirable)

Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

Experience or interest in purchasing and stock control

Good numerical and analytical abilities

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively

Computer literate, with confidence using accounting systems and Excel

Fluent English and Spanish are essential

The successful candidate will support the accounts department by managing various financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining efficient data entry. The ideal applicant will have experience with accounting software and a strong understanding of accounts payable procedures.

Duties



Assist with processing accounts payable transactions using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft Manage data entry related to financial records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Support the reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial reports Utilise systems like Workday and QuickBooks to update and maintain financial data Help in verifying invoices and expense claims in line with company policies Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with organisational procedures Maintain organised records of all transactions and correspondence related to accounts Contribute to month-end closing activities by providing necessary documentation and reports

Qualifications



Proven experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar systems Familiarity with Workday, QuickBooks, and other financial management tools Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail Knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial services industry standards Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively Previous experience working within a finance or accounting department is desirable but not essential Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
