Role Summary:



Working Pattern: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday



Contract: Permanent



Location: Zenith Head Office, 47 Bengal Street, Manchester, M4 6BB



The Accounts Assistant supports the smooth running of the company's financial operations, with a focus on maintaining accurate records, timely processing, and effective communication across all accounts functions. They take responsibility for monitoring the accounts inbox daily, ensuring invoices, statements, and payment queries are reviewed, organised, and directed appropriately. By assisting with purchase ledger management for the company, they help ensure all supplier invoices, direct debits, and reconciliations are processed efficiently and in line with company procedures.

Working closely with colleagues and suppliers, the Accounts Assistant contributes to the accuracy and reliability of financial information, supporting cash flow management and compliance. With a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to process improvement, they help to streamline financial administration, reduce errors, and maintain positive working relationships. As experience develops, the role will expand to include greater involvement in payment runs, bank reconciliations, and reporting, providing valuable support to the wider accounts and management teams while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and accuracy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:


You'll be expected to, amongst other elements of the role:

Monitor and manage the accounts inbox daily, ensuring invoices, statements, and payment-related correspondence are reviewed, posted and correctly allocated. Support the purchase ledger function, including posting invoices, direct debits, and supplier statements. Liaise with suppliers and colleagues to resolve invoice queries and ensure timely approvals and payments. Assist with reconciliation tasks, including rental statements and bank reconciliations. Maintain accurate supplier information and support payment runs, ensuring compliance with company procedures. Raise sales invoices for management fees and other charges, accurately posting them onto the CRM system and ensuring ledgers are consistently updated and reconciled between the CRM and accounting system. Maintain a high standard of professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality in all financial activities.

Personal Qualities and Experience:



AAT, or equivalent, active studier (or willingness to work towards a Finance qualification) Understanding of finance and accounting Positive attitude and desire to develop professionally Demonstrates high levels of accuracy and attention to detail Strong initiative and ability to work autonomously and manage own time
