Component Distributors Group distributes vehicle components and parts throughout the island of Ireland from its branches in Mallusk, Dublin and Cork, representing leading brands such as Bosch and Ferdinand Bilstein. It is a profitable, third generation family business employing over 180 people with annual turnover of 40m and carries over 10m of stock across its locations. Reporting to the Group Finance Controller, the Accounts Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the Finance department as the business continues its strong growth.

Key duties and responsibilities include:



Monthly management accounts

o Reconciling key balance sheet accounts including those relating to stock accounting, inter-company balances, supplier payments, customer receipts and expenses

o Working with colleagues in the business to understand any issues behind what the numbers are showing

o Monitor transactions for discrepancies

Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable

o Help resolve sales and purchase ledger queries

o Ensure supplier credits are being received and posted to the system correctly

o Reconcile old core returns to supplier credits and investigate any differences

o Reconcile warranty returns from customer return through to credit or rejection and communicate status with customers

o Help the business on its auto-match journey where purchase invoices are automatically matched to goods received notes

o Assist with credit control and chase outstanding debts

o Provide cover for holidays for the accounts receivable and accounts payable teams

Customs

o Assist the business with its obligations in completing Supplementary declarations and Internal Market Movements (IMMIs) in Northern Ireland

o Reconcile the company's TAN account monthly for customs transactions processed in the Republic of Ireland

Other

o Handle internal mail and correspondence

o Manage petty cash transactions and records

o Reconcile company credit card expenses

o Assist with external audits by collating information requested

o Support monthly payroll process

Skills, qualifications and attributes required:



A positive and engaging attitude, happy at work and supportive of colleagues

Strong analytical, presentation and interpersonal skills

Excellent organization and communication

Skills and qualifications preferred

Good computer literacy skills (there will be a significant element of work in Microsoft Excel)

Previous experience in a similar role preferable but not essential

The role covers all areas of the finance function and could suit a wide variety of people, from those starting their career, returning from a career break or someone with more experience.

Support and training will be provided to the successful candidate, including support pursuing external qualifications should they wish to do so.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 26,000.00-28,000.00 per year
