Summary

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting our financial operations and ensuring accurate accounting practices as we continue to expand our business. The position is based in Southend-on-Sea

The role is for 12 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner. Match, batch, and code all purchase invoices. Chase internal cardholders for invoices/receipts. Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies. Prepare payment runs in accordance with agreed schedules. Respond to internal and external queries relating to invoices and payments. Assist the Accountant with month-end closing processes and reporting. Maintain and update supplier records within the finance system. Liaise with Purchasing Department to ensure all invoices are posted in correct reporting period. Support ad-hoc finance tasks and projects as required.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role. Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero is advantageous but not essential Strong data entry skills with attention to detail. Basic understanding of financial services and accounting principles. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
