About The Role





Are you ready to take the next step in your finance career? Join our Finance team as an Accounts Assistant and play a vital role in keeping our financial processes accurate and efficient, all while having the opportunity to study and gain further qualifications.



Due to continued business growth, PETA are looking to expand our training team through the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant within our finance team. In this role, you will work closely with our Finance Business Partner and play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the smooth running of our month-end and year-end processes.



This is advertised as a full-time role at 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, however we are open to considering part-time and flexible working arrangements for the right candidate.



This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is developing their career in finance and is keen to build strong professional relationships across the organisation. We also offer study support, making this an ideal role for someone currently studying or planning to study towards their qualification.






Your New Role

In your role as our Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for the following:


Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal teams and external stakeholders. Provide timely, accurate financial reporting and analysis to the Finance Business Partner as required. Process supplier purchase invoices efficiently and accurately within the accounting system. Reconciliation of supplier accounts. Prepare and complete weekly payment runs, including issuing remittances to suppliers Reconcile company credit card transactions, ensuring all supporting documents are complete and compliant. Processing of sales invoice and customer statements Bank reconciliation Assist the Finance Business Partner with preparing and posting journals Support the month-end close process, including reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules Contribute to the year-end process by assisting with audit requests, preparing documentation, and ensuring accurate financial records

To be successful as our new Accounts Assistant, you will be previous experience gained within a similar finance or accounts role. You will also:
Be confident using accounting systems and Excel Have strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills Be able to communicate clearly and build positive working relationships Be proactive, willing to learn and eager to develop within the finance team
