About the Role



Are you detail-oriented, confident with numbers, and ready to take ownership of supplier relationships? We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our growing finance team in a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities



Manage the purchase ledger, including posting invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and preparing payment runs Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers Handle and negotiate trade terms to ensure the best value and favourable payment conditions Work closely with production teams to resolve supplier-related issues and support smooth operational flow Provide support to the wider finance team, assisting with month-end tasks and stepping in where needed Respond promptly to invoice discrepancies and supplier queries Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal processes

Key Skills & Experience



Previous experience in a purchase ledger/accounts payable role (experience in manufacturing is a plus) Strong communication and negotiation skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Proficient with accounting software (inc. Sage50) and Microsoft Excel A team player with a proactive, can-do attitude Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
