About this role:



We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our finance team, supporting day-to-day operations through accurate record-keeping, transaction processing, and assistance with reconciliations and ad-hoc tasks.

Key responsibilities:



Perform daily bank reconciliations across two current accounts and three deposit accounts (GBP & EUR) Support the accounts payable function - including complex supplier reconciliations Process daily expenses (approx. 800 transactions per month) using Pleo, including out-of-pocket and company card spend; review and approve expenses in line with company policy, and import approved expenses into the accounting system Chase missing information and flag any non-compliant items Produce reports and analysis from the expenses systems to provide KPI's to Board Prepare and process bank transfers and payments, including issuing remittance advices Create and issue sales invoices Support cash collection for both STCH & SPS ledgers, resolving invoice queries and liaising with customers Forecast debtor balances for inclusion into cash forecast Monitor and review credit limits, track email notifications for changes, update the accounting system accordingly, and escalate issues where necessary Monitor and respond to queries via the shared finance inbox Raise purchase orders across the business using the new ERP system Obtain appropriate authorisation for purchase orders and supplier invoices Prepare and complete supplier payments runs, including remittance distribution Undertake general administrative support and tasks as necessary

Our ideal candidate will have:



Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy A solid understanding of accounting principles Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs Experience using ERP systems and expense management software; experience with SAP ByDesign is an advantage Excellent communication and organisational skills The ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines Knowledge of HMRC regulations relating to reimbursement rates and allowances, including quarterly updates to HMRC Advisory Fuel Rates
