We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role by preparing statutory accounts and supporting working papers for a portfolio of around 50 SME clients. The clients have a turnover ranging from 50k up to 2m, and are based in a variety of sectors including construction, manufacturing, retail and hospitality. There will also be scope to assist in the preparation of corporation tax computations and returns, personal tax returns and VAT, if the candidate has experience in tax.
The candidate will ideally have at least 3 years' experience in the preparation of statutory accounts and supporting working paper files. The candidate must have experience of working with Xero and QuickBooks, as well as being able to prepare accounts for clients not using online software (for example using bank statements and hard copy invoices).
The candidate will have strong understanding of financial services and accounting principles; a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks; ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment; strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; good communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with colleagues and clients.
