Pathway Intermediates Limited was founded in the UK in 2001 by two scientists, and has grown organically since then. It is a research dedicated feed additive business with a range of novel products. With research and manufacturing facilities in the UK and South-Korea, we work in partnership with a world-wide network of branches and distributors. The Company offers a wide range of products and solutions to the animal nutrition and health industry in order to provide healthy food for today and the generations to come.
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance the Accounts Assistant will take responsibility for the Company's accounting records, ensuring that supplier, employee and other partners are paid accurately and on time. The Accounts Assistant will take responsibility for most of the Company's paperwork and ensure that it is duly processed and filed in accordance with the Company's processes.
The Accounts Assistant's main responsibilities are:
Accounting:
To post sales and purchase invoices onto the Company's accounting software.
To match delivery notes to purchase orders and suppliers' invoices.
To raise sales invoices and customer statements.
To post payments to the bank.
Managing the company credit cards
Prepare and pay VAT returns.
To reconcile control accounts (i.e. VAT, salaries, pensions, etc).
Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets, including variance reporting
Payroll:
To collate timesheets and process the Company's payroll(s), to include all aspects relating to PAYE and employee benefits - Company sick pay, pensions, etc.
To manage employee questions and queries relating to the payroll(s).
To check and process employee expenses in accordance with Company policy.
Stock, Quality and Non-Accounting Tasks:
To maintain the stock database and reconcile it with stock takes.
To generate purchase orders for stock in line with the production plan and to place orders with suppliers.
To assist in travel arrangements for colleagues and for visitors
To conduct ad hoc administration (stationery orders, sundries and supplies, etc.).
The Accounts Assistant's main requirements are:
Proven experience working as an Accounts Assistant or similar.
Experience of a wide range of accounting responsibilities and confidence in the role; specifically sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, banking, foreign currency transactions, imports and exports and fixed asset register.
Highly numerate with a key eye for accuracy.
To be an effective team player and maintain a professional manner with colleagues and customers at all times.
A highly trustworthy and reliable individual is required for this role

To have a flexible approach to work activities.
To have excellent organisational and time management skills.
