Job Description

Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our financial team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting department by managing accounts payable, processing financial transactions, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position is perfect for individuals looking to develop their skills in financial services and accounting software.

Transaction Processing



Process customer receipts, purchase invoices, and credit card expenses. Match goods received notes to invoices and mark invoices as paid. Set up monthly supplier payments and remittances.

Reconciliations & Reporting



Prepare accounts analysis spreadsheets and debtor reports. Reconcile daily bank availability across GBP, Euro, and USD accounts. Provide bank balances and payment schedules for forecasting input.

Cash Flow Administration



Update and maintain the cash flow forecast workbook. Ensure timely and accurate input of expected receipts and payments. Support financial planning with up-to-date cash position insights.

Audit & Compliance Support



Assist with year-end audit preparation by supplying requested financial records and documentation. Provide clear explanations and supporting evidence for journal entries and adjustments. Organise and present historical transaction data and supporting schedules. Maintain accurate records of invoices and credit notes for VAT compliance. Supply supporting documents for duty/VAT reviews and audits.

Credit Control & Monitoring



Monitor customer credit limits and chase overdue debts. Request credit limit increases where necessary. Maintain up-to-date records of due dates and amounts owed/received.

Administrative Support



Scan, file, and archive financial documents. Assist with other finance-related administrative duties as required.

Person Specification



Essential Skills & Experience



Previous experience in a finance or accounts role desirable (minimum 1-2 years). Understanding of basic accounting principles.

Desirable Qualifications



AAT Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) desirable . Experience supporting audit processes and maintaining financial forecasts.

Pay: 25,000.00-28,000.00 per year
