Job Title:Legal Cashier/Accounts Assistant Reporting to: Head of Accounts Department
Award winning North Leeds law firm is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team. The firm is rapidly growing therefore this is a fantastic opportunity for a highly driven and motivated candidate to join a fast paced team.
Oakwood Solicitors Limited falls under the Oakwood Solicitors group which includes, Oakwood Scotland Solicitors and MLS Law (Property) Limited trading as Oakwood Property Solicitors. The successful candidate will be employed by Oakwood Solicitors Limited, however, will be working for all three companies within the group.
Key tasks (not an exhaustive list)
Bank reconciliations
Billing
CHAPS/BACS receipts and payments
Posting of disbursements
Purchase Ledger invoices and payment entries
Nominal entries
Running month end and VAT quarter
Dealing with various queries
Day-to-day compliance of Solicitors Accounts Rules
Assistance with processing cheques, BACS remittances, closing files and daily banking and credit control
Various ad-hoc duties
Candidate should have:
Impeccable attention to detail
Excellent organisation and planning skills
Ability to remain calm whilst working under pressure
Quick learning
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
Ability to work to strict deadlines and effectively prioritise a range of tasks
At least 2 years' experience in a similar role/accounts background
Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules (Preferred but not essential)
Hours of Work
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with a 1 hour lunch break.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 24,500.00-25,500.00 per year
