Robertson Campbell Investments (RCI) is looking to hire a part-time Accounts & Finance Manager to assist with our growing investment portfolio.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing the financial reporting function at RCI, and will be involved in everything from processing invoices and payroll, to the preparation of management information and reporting to the directors.
This role is part of a small finance team that includes a part-time financial controller, finance manger as well as the managing director. The RCI management team is small, so candidates will gain exposure to all parts of our business.
About RCI
RCI are a private family office, investing across three asset classes: Commercial Real Estate, Listed Securities and Direct Private Equity.
Our principle focus is Direct Private Equity, where we look take an active role in helping our investments to grow and develop. Our current portfolio includes Wessington Cryogenics Limited based near Durham, and Netzero Facades Limited based near Cumbernauld. Our latest investment is a construction/manufacturing business called Henshaw Facades Limited.
On the Real Estate side, our portfolio includes prime commercial property assets in central Edinburgh, located on Princess Street, George Street and Hanover Street, plus an office building in Stirling.
We have also commenced a purpose built student accommodation development, comprising 105 studios in central Glasgow, and will be overseeing the delivery of that development over the next 12 months.
Our office is based on George Street in Edinburgh and is the primary office location for this role.
It is our preference that the candidate should be office based, however flexibility in terms of working hours can be accommodated. Therefore this role could suit someone that is based in Edinburgh or elsewhere in central Scotland where commuting is an option.
We are recruiting for a part-time position of 3-4 days per week.

Key responsibilities:
Processing invoices & expense forms
Working with sales / purchase ledger
Preparation of monthly management information
Preparation of accounts & financial statements
Working with external tax and accountancy advisors
VAT returns via Xero
Payroll via Xero
Providing administrative support to the team
Maintaining Xero system
Implementing new systems and controls as necessary
Ideal candidate
- AAT qualified or part-qualified, Qualified or Part-qualified accountant
- Experience of working in construction / manufacturing sector - ideal but not fundamental
- Experience of the Xero accounting system
- Enthusiastic, willing to learn and appetite to take responsibility
- Good organisation skills and ability to prioritise a varied workload
Pay & benefits
- 30k to 40k full time equivalent, depending on experience. To be adjusted based on number of days worked.
