As our company accounts manager / bookkeeper, you will be keeping our daily finances in order. We are looking for a dedicated, trustworthy and detail-oriented person with a solid understanding of Xero, preferably with experience in an agricultural setting and a can-do attitude to fulfil the demands of a busy accounts role and assist in the growth of the business.
This is an onsite / in person role, in a small friendly office where team working is essential, with the confidence to take ownership of the accounts role and work on your own initiative.
Your role with include, but not be limited to -
Follow process for authorising purchases and processing invoices and expenses
Raise agreed sales invoices
Monitor credit control, chasing overdue debts
Monitor supplier accounts, reconciling statements, discussing discrepancies
Bank reconciliations over multiple accounts
Organise pay runs for approval - suppliers and staff
Manage payroll function
Manage self employed staff, checking timesheet submission, deductions, gaining approval and making payments
Process monthly VAT returns
You will have experience in -
Proven experience working with Xero and Dext
Experience with agricultural accounts would be a benefit
Knowledge of cash management and budgeting to keep the business running smoothly
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes
Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously
Identify opportunities to improve security and processes
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
This role is part time and must be in-person. Hours will be approximately 18-20 each week, days/split to be agreed and pay will be dependant on experience. There will be a short hand over period and we are looking for someone to join our team imminently.
