Accounts Payable Manager
to lead our AP function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all payment processes.
The Role
As AP Manager, you will oversee the company's accounts payable operations, ensuring vendor invoices are processed accurately and on time, cash flow is optimised, and vendor relationships are maintained to the highest standard. You will lead the AP team, drive process improvements, and collaborate with finance and procurement to support wider business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop the AP team, conducting performance reviews and identifying training needs.
Oversee accurate and timely invoice processing, approvals, and payment runs.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
Manage cash flow in collaboration with the treasury team, negotiating payment terms where possible.
Prepare AP-related reports, analyse trends, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Implement process improvements and automation to streamline workflows.
Act as the escalation point for vendor queries and disputes, maintaining strong relationships.
Maintain accurate AP records for audits and compliance.
Partner with procurement and finance teams to align processes and support strategic planning.
What We're Looking For
A proven track record in accounts payable management.
A couple of years' experience in a similar leadership role.
Familiarity with integrated finance systems (AP, AR, GL, Payroll).
Strong knowledge of MS Office; exposure to automation tools (e.g. RPA) beneficial.
Experience with process improvement and change management is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work accurately under pressure.
