Accounts Payable Lead

who's ready to take charge, streamline operations, and be a key part of our finance team.

Purpose of the role

The purpose of the AP Lead is to actively manage the purchase ledgers for all Kennel Club businesses in accordance with all supplier payment terms and conditions of trade; to deliver effective and improved cash management and cash availability; to ensure that "fit for purpose" financial controls and governance are continually operated; to develop and uphold strong supplier relationships; to support the profitable long-term growth and sustainability of the business and to advocate finance business partnering across the business.

What the role involves

Management of the Purchase to Pay (P2P) Purchase Ledger ensuring that are made according to the process and policies Manage Transactions and keep records as per audit and compliance requirements Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders Ensure that reporting is correct and timely and as per internal controls and VAT requirements Improve customer service and processes through working with stakeholders and suppliers Ensure that through business systems and technology all data is accurate and retains integrity and complies with data protection.

What you'll bring to the role

A recognised accounting qualification (e.g. AAT Level 2/3 or equivalent) or in the process of working towards one. Working knowledge of general accounting procedures and accounts payable principles. Experience with accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, ERP systems) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong numerical and analytical skills Comfortably working independently in a hands-on role and as part of a high-performing team Self-starter with the passion and initiative to drive business change and deliver business improvement, continuous improvement mindset Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Effective communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with customers and internal stakeholders. Previous experience in accounts payable or finance role is preferred.
