We are a small, dynamic team looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our finance and administrative operations. This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to be involved in multiple aspects of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing sales and purchase ledgers, supporting purchasing activities, assisting with Quality Management System (QMS) documentation, and carrying out general office duties.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts & Finance
- Maintain and update sales and purchase ledgers accurately, recording customer payments and processing supplier payments.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end reporting and financial documentation.
Purchasing
- Conduct daily checks of the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
- Raise and issue purchase orders with suppliers to ensure continuity of production.
- Monitor order confirmations and delivery schedules.
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve any issues related to pricing, availability, or delivery.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure timely procurement of materials.
Quality Management Support
- Support the maintenance and updating of QMS documentation.
- Assist with internal audits and compliance checks.
- Ensure records are filed and stored in accordance with quality standards.
General Office Duties
- Answer and direct phone calls and emails professionally.
- Maintain filing systems and handle general correspondence.
- Order office supplies and manage stock levels.
- Provide administrative support to other departments as required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in an accounts or finance role.
- Familiarity with Sage accounting software (essential).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments.
- Friendly and professional communication style.
- Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently.
- Experience with QMS or ISO standards is desirable but not essential.
Qualifications
- AAT Level 3 + qualified or currently working towards completion.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
