Summary



Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Department, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and departmental deadlines are met. The role involves supervising team members and supporting all aspects of financial accounting through to trial balance. The Accounts Supervisor will also provide cover for the Finance Manager as required and undertake key additional duties such as balance sheet reconciliations, liaising with auditors, and covering payroll (training provided).

Responsibilities



Supervise the daily workload of the accounts team members to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time. Oversee the processing and payment of UK and overseas supplier invoices. Ensure entries are posted correctly into the accounting system. Ensure all bank accounts are reconciled daily and company credit cards are reconciled monthly. Ensure our Invoice Financing and Loan accounts balance at all times. Review and maintain correct use of general ledger codes. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end and year-end processes in conjunction with the Accounts Manager and Finance Director. Liaise with external auditors as required. Assist the Finance Manager with payroll and HR administration tasks, and fully cover payroll processing when needed (full training provided). Provide cover for the Finance Manager during periods of absence, including overseeing departmental operations and team supervision. Undertake any other accounts or finance-related duties as required.

About You:



AAT qualified or part-qualified (Level 3 or above) - or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounting role. Confident in maintaining accounts to trial balance standard. Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and supporting year-end processes is desirable. Strong attention to detail, time management and organisational skills. Experience of supervising or supporting team members is desirable. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar an advantage). Professional, proactive, and able to work to deadlines within a busy finance environment. Willingness to learn and cover as required.
