Role Summary The Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) plays a key role in ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of prescription medications. Working closely with the pharmacist and dispensary staff, the ACT is responsible for performing final accuracy checks on dispensed prescriptions within their scope of practice, allowing pharmacists more time to focus on clinical services and patient care. Key Responsibilities Perform final accuracy checks on dispensed prescriptions in accordance with legal, professional, and company standards Support dispensary workflow to maintain efficiency, safety, and productivity Work collaboratively with the pharmacist and all members of the pharmacy team Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with SOPs at all times Assist in ordering, stock management, and general dispensary duties as needed Provide excellent customer service and support for patient queries Uphold high standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and patient safety Requirements GPHC Registered NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Technician qualification (or equivalent) Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) certification (required) Strong attention to detail with exceptional accuracy and organisational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication and problem-solving abilities Experience in a community pharmacy environment (preferred) What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience, open to negotiation Supportive work environment with opportunities for professional development A chance to make a meaningful contribution to patient care in the community How to Apply Please send your CV and a brief cover letter to: Scott.ng@nhs.scot with the subject line Accuracy Checking Technician Application.
