Job Description

We're looking for someone who loves the outdoor life and wants to help people to enjoy it in their own way. Our Active Outdoors Assistant role, known as 'Play Worker' is all about giving people a warm welcome, sharing practical information and offering helpful advice. This role is essential to keeping our play area in top condition and a safe, friendly place to play. You'll play a key part in making sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable experience.



What it's like to work here:Wimpole Estate is a large estate comprising of over 2,500 acres of parkland as well as large mansion house, formal and walled gardens and a rare breeds farm. Over the centuries, Wimpole has been owned by several families, and each has left its mark, most notably Elsie Bambridge, daughter of Rudyard Kipling who bequeathed the estate to the National Trust in the 1970s.


Working with the Visitor Experience team, you will be in the best place to see how we use the beautiful surroundings of gardens and parklands for our Events.

What you'll be doing:Your job is all about creating the best possible experience for everyone. You'll chat to people to understand their needs and offer relevant advice, while also keeping an eye on safety and maintenance. It's in your hands to help as many people as possible to enjoy their time in the countryside in whatever way they'd like to.


This role will be predominantly based outdoors, being a friendly visible presence around our play areas.
