We have an exciting opportunity to join the team at Trengwainton garden this summer as Active Outdoor Assistant. You will assist in the delivery of the den building summer activity for family visitors and community groups, engaging with visitors of all ages. By doing so, you help to create a fun and memorable experience for everyone that visits and help them understand more about our place. You're enthusiastic about inspiring children and families and enjoy spending time outdoors in this active role.
Duration : 7-week fixed term contract until 31 August.
Hours: 27.5 hours per week, over 5 days. Daily working hours between 10.30am and 4pm.
This role will involve working on Sundays and bank holidays.

What you'll be doing:You will assist in delivering the den building activity for families and communities in the woodlands at Trengwainton garden. Den building is one of the most important activities of our Summer of play programme and is very popular with our visitors. No prior experience with den building is necessary. However, it is important to be aware of the physical nature of this activity which includes lifting branches when dismantling dens. Alongside supporting the den building activity and engaging with visitors, you will also be collecting feedback and conducting equipment checks. We are looking for a positively spirited colleague who loves engaging with children and adults and is happy to be outdoors in all weathers.
