Activities Director
Duties:
- Plan, organize, and coordinate a variety of activities and events for residents in an assisted living and nursing home setting.
- Develop and implement engaging programs that cater to the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of senior residents.
- Collaborate with staff, residents, and families to assess individual needs and preferences for activities.
- Create a monthly activity calendar that offers a diverse range of options to meet the interests and abilities of residents.
- Lead group activities such as exercise classes, arts and crafts, games, music therapy, and outings.
- Provide one-on-one interaction with residents who may require additional support or have specific care needs.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants during activities.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and feedback from residents.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members.
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards senior care.
- Knowledge of dementia care and the ability to adapt activities for individuals with memory loss.
- Strong organizational skills to plan and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
- Creativity in developing engaging programs that cater to a diverse group of seniors.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team.
