It is important that candidates are self-starters, because the role of an activities coordinator is vital to provide the residents with activities on a daily basis to ensure they are stimulated and entertained. The ideal candidate will be creative and have the residents' interests at the heart of the activities provided. Activities Coordinators must also engage with staff to participate and help out on bigger projects such as gardening club, baking, arts & crafts, sing alongs and external trips.
Finally, activities have to be documented and logged for CQC inspection and the activities coordinator must be able to work with the marketing manager to pass over content (photos and brief descriptions of activities) so that the activities can be posted on the home's Facebook Page and website for the benefit of the loved ones of residents to view.
