We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Co-ordinator to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our care home. The Activities Co-Ordinator will be responsible for planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, physical well-being, and cognitive stimulation. This role requires excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents.
Duties
Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and needs of residents in the care home.
Coordinate with staff, families, and volunteers to ensure successful execution of activities.
Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents, including those with varying levels of ability.
Evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make adjustments based on resident feedback and engagement levels.
Maintain accurate records of participation and document any notable achievements or changes in resident behaviour.
Communicate regularly with residents to understand their preferences and gather input for future activities.
Ensure that all activities comply with health and safety regulations within the care environment.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar role within a care home, nursing home, or assisted living facility is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of senior care principles, particularly in relation to dementia care.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop innovative programmes that cater to diverse interests.
A compassionate approach towards caring for seniors and a commitment to enhancing their quality of life.
Relevant qualifications in health care or recreational therapy are advantageous but not essential.
