We are looking for a dynamic, friendly and fun loving activities co-ordinator to join our team here at Pen-Y-Bryn EMI care home.

Pen-Y-Bryn is an EMI residential care home located in Top Hill, Fron-Deg, Bagillt, Flintshire CH6 6HU.

As an activities co-ordinator you will help deliver a programme of activities to all of our residents who have dementia who are at differing stages of dementia progression. Care home activities are central to the life of our residents.

We are looking for one candidate for this role and we are flexible with days. The hours are 10am - 4pm.

Salary is 12.60 per hour.

Our activities co-ordinator will be helping to devise an imaginative, fun and motivational activities programme for all of our residents.

This will be an extremely rewarding role.

Ideal candidate would have:

Dementia knowledge is desirable but not essential. Previous experience in an activities co-ordinator role is preferred but not essential. Online training is available for this role to support knowledge around dementia as well as other mandatory areas. Able to work independently using own initiative. Good communication skills essential Ability to cope in challenging situations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

To undertake delegated tasks to contribute to the smooth running of the activity service.

Monitor engagement of activities both in house and in the community

Facilitating, planning and sourcing activities for the residents

Work with the registered manager and deputy manager in evolving current activities care plans using a person centered approach.

Promoting and hosting in house activities for our residents

Document all activities each our residents have taken part in using their personal e-records. Training will be provided on this.

Arrange excursions to varied destinations and purposefully involve as many residents in activity outside of the home.

Ability to confidently present activity reports or attend meetings when requested.

Understand and support individuals to lead a good quality of life whilst achieving positive outcomes along the way.

Please note that this position requires a genuine passion for working with seniors in a care environment.
