Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Director to lead and enhance the recreational programmes within our assisted living facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being for our residents, particularly those in senior care and dementia care settings. This role requires excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for providing care to enhance the quality of life for our residents.

Duties



Design and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and needs of residents in a care home or nursing home environment. Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages resident participation in all activities. Collaborate with staff to ensure that activities are safe, enjoyable, and accessible for all residents. Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continuously improve programme offerings. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather input on activity preferences. Organise special events, outings, and themed days that enhance community engagement within the facility. Provide support and assistance during activities, ensuring that all residents receive the necessary care and attention.

Experience



Previous experience in an activities director role or similar position within an assisted living or senior care environment is preferred. Strong background in dementia care is highly advantageous. Proven ability to communicate effectively with seniors and their families while demonstrating empathy and understanding. Experience in planning recreational programmes that cater to diverse interests and abilities is essential. A passion for promoting the well-being of elderly individuals through creative engagement is crucial for success in this role.
