Job Summary


We are seeking two compassionate and dynamic Activities Co-ordinators to work across 7 days between them for 4 hours per day to enhance the quality of life for our residents in a residential care home setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of seniors, including those with dementia and Alzheimer's care requirements. This role is crucial in fostering a vibrant community atmosphere that promotes social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities



Develop and implement a diverse range of activities that cater to the physical, social, and emotional needs of residents. Coordinate with staff to ensure activities are well-organised and adequately staffed. Engage residents in meaningful interactions, encouraging participation in group activities as well as individual pursuits. Assess residents' interests and abilities to tailor programmes that enhance their quality of life. Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continually improve activity offerings. Collaborate with families and caregivers to ensure alignment with residents' preferences and care plans. Stay informed about best practices in senior care, dementia care, and caregiving techniques to provide the highest level of service.

Requirements



Previous experience in a residential home is essential. Demonstrated knowledge of senior care practices, particularly in dementia and Alzheimer's care. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members. Ability to create engaging programmes that promote physical activity, mental stimulation, and socialisation among residents. A compassionate approach towards caregiving with a genuine desire to improve the lives of seniors. Flexibility to adapt activities based on changing resident needs or preferences. Relevant qualifications or training in gerontology or a related field would be advantageous.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week
