The Activities Coordinator plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in assisted living and nursing home settings. This position involves planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with dementia and Alzheimer's care requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for senior care, ensuring that all residents feel valued and included.

Responsibilities



Develop and implement a diverse range of activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being for residents. Assess the interests and abilities of residents to create personalised activity plans. Coordinate with staff, families, and volunteers to facilitate successful events and outings. Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and gather feedback to improve future programmes. Provide support and encouragement to residents during activities, fostering a sense of community. Stay informed about best practices in senior care and incorporate them into programming.

Qualifications



Previous experience in a residential or nursing home settings is highly desirable. Background in caregiving is essential, with specific experience in dementia and Alzheimer's care being an advantage. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A compassionate approach towards elderly individuals, demonstrating patience and understanding. Relevant qualifications or training in recreational therapy or a related field would be beneficial but are not mandatory. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 33 - 40 per week
