Duties



Plan and organize a variety of recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, music sessions, games, outings, and themed events Assist residents with daily activities (Activities of Daily Living - ADLs) such as mobility, dressing, and personal care as needed Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to incorporate therapeutic activities that support memory care, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and other specialized needs Manage activity schedules to ensure timely execution of events while accommodating individual preferences and health considerations Foster social engagement by encouraging participation and facilitating group interactions among residents Maintain accurate records of participation, activity feedback, and resident preferences to personalize future programming Support residents' emotional well-being through compassionate communication and personalized attention during activities

Skills



Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living or nursing home settings Strong understanding of senior care principles, including Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care, and long-term care practices Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with residents of diverse backgrounds and abilities Ability to assist with ADLs and support residents' physical comfort during activities Effective schedule management skills to coordinate multiple events seamlessly throughout the day Knowledge of aging issues counseling and social work principles to provide empathetic support Experience working with people with disabilities or in home & community care environments is highly desirable Creative problem-solving skills to adapt activities for varying levels of ability and health conditions

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 33 per week
