Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Leader to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors, particularly those living with dementia or in assisted living environments. As an Activity Leader, you will play a vital role in fostering a sense of community and belonging among residents through various recreational and therapeutic activities.

Duties

Plan, organise, and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and staff to ensure that activities meet the needs and preferences of all participants. Facilitate group activities such as arts and crafts, games, music sessions, and physical exercises that promote social interaction and mental stimulation. Provide individual support to residents who may require assistance during activities, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times. Monitor residents' participation and engagement levels, adjusting activities as necessary to maintain interest and involvement. Document attendance and feedback on activities to help evaluate their effectiveness and improve future programming. Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive environment that encourages resident participation in daily life.

Requirements

Previous experience in senior care, assisted living, or dementia care is highly desirable. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with seniors and their families. A caring attitude towards residents, demonstrating empathy and understanding of their needs. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Creativity in developing new activity ideas that cater to diverse interests. Flexibility to adapt plans based on resident feedback or changing circumstances within the care home.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 15.00-20.00 per hour
