Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activity Coordinator to join our dedicated team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors, particularly those in assisted living and nursing home settings. This role is pivotal in planning and implementing engaging activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents, including those requiring dementia care.

Responsibilities

Develop and organise a variety of engaging activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Facilitate group activities, ensuring participation from all residents while promoting social interaction and community spirit. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to understand individual preferences and needs. Monitor resident participation and provide feedback to improve future activities. Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with each resident's care plan. Maintain an inventory of supplies needed for activities and ensure all materials are available and in good condition. Document activity participation and outcomes as part of our ongoing commitment to quality care.

Skills

Experience in a care home or nursing home environment is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with seniors, families, and colleagues. Understanding of dementia care principles and the ability to adapt activities accordingly. A creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box when planning engaging programmes. Excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail. A genuine passion for senior care and enhancing the lives of older adults through meaningful activities.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour
