Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Activity Coordinator to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our friendly care home. The ideal candidate will have a background in supporting the elderly, with experience in dementia and Alzheimer's care. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being.

Duties

Plan, organise, and implement a variety of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Facilitate group activities that encourage participation and foster community among residents within the home setting. Collaborate with care and senior staff to ensure activities align with the individual care plans of residents. Record resident participation and feedback on activities. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather input for future activities and events. Ensure a safe environment during all activities, adhering to health and safety regulations. Provide support and companionship to residents during activities

Requirements

Previous experience in supporting the elderly or in care home settings is desirable. Background in senior care, particularly with dementia and Alzheimer's care. Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff. A compassionate approach to caregiving, demonstrating patience and understanding towards residents' needs. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Creative thinking skills to develop innovative activity programmes that cater to diverse interests. Pay: 12.21 per hour
