We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Coordinator to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for our residents in a dementia care setting. This role involves planning, organising, and facilitating a variety of activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being among residents.
Duties
Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure activities are well-coordinated and enjoyable.
Encourage participation from all residents while being sensitive to individual preferences and abilities.
Collaborate with care staff to ensure that all activities are safe and suitable for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive function.
Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback on activities.
Organise special events and celebrations that will enhance the community spirit within the care home.
Requirements
Previous experience in a care setting is desirable.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with seniors.
A caring attitude towards residents, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
Knowledge or experience in dementia care is an advantage.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Creativity in developing new activity ideas that cater to diverse interests.
